For years I have wanted to listen to the multitude of eclectic Internet radio stations on a place other than my computer. Today, this is now possible. Wunder Radio, Pandora, Wolfgang’s Vault, AOL Radio and other applications provide direct Internet streaming of great and often hard to find music direct to your iPod Touch, iPhone or other media device. Attach the device to your home stereo or speaker dock and you can tune in and listen to great mostly commercial free music from around the globe without head phones. Remember that radio station you loved at college, or that radio station you discovered on vacation in Italy or England? Look it up with Wunder Radio, bookmark it and you can listen anytime.

Pandora – a commercial free station that you customize by telling it what bands and songs you like. It works somewhat like Tivo – you can give a thumbs up or down to songs and or bands. It analyzes your musical tastes and will play songs from similar artists. Available from any web browser on your computer and there is an app to install on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Free.
Wolfgang’s Vault – If you love live concerts this is what you need. This application specializes in live full length concerts (many from the classic bands of the 1960’s). Sign up for first for free at Wolfgang’s Vault on the web. Listen to classic live concerts from the Grateful Dead, Bob Marley, Little Feat, Pink Floyd, U2, David Bowie, and more. Free.
Wunder Radio – Wunder Radio is an application for the iPod Touch or iPhone. It has a very wide range of radio stations from around the entire U.S. as well as Europe and beyond. Allows you to bookmark your favorite stations. $5.99 for iPhone & iPod Touch
